Panache Salon & Spa to participate as merchant with Shoptoearn.net
and Shoptoearth.net
- Funds earned are dedicated to helping non-profits
St. Augustine, Fla. — Panache, a St. Augustine, Fla. based company with
Aveda Lifestyle Store, Salon and Spa, is now a registered merchant
on the e-commerce shopping websites shoptoearn.net and shoptoearch.net. According
to Kristy Weeks, Panache founder and owner, her affiliation with the websites
match her company’s mission and Aveda’s focus to provide products and services
that support humanitarian and sustainability efforts around the world
“Shoptoearn.net and Shoptoearth.net are websites that are considered to be among the fastest-growing shopping malls on the Internet. These are websites that empower people to become conscious consumers and choose a lifestyle of better health and increased wealth,” said Weeks. “Through our joint alliance with reputable green companies along with the biggest names in retail, we are proud to do our part to increase green awareness while participating as merchants online,” she said. “Our ultimate goal is to make a difference in the world environmentally and socially, and we can accomplish this in many ways including our work with Aveda and giving back to our communities through non-profits and humanitarian efforts as salon professionals.”
Weeks recently signed up for the website service and for Panache to be listed among thousands of green-oriented retail and service businesses. According to Weeks, the ShopToEarn and ShopToEarth website is set-up as a direct sales opportunity with a goal to increase environmental awareness and social responsibility. While purchasing eco-friendly products, ShopToEarn and ShopToEarth member retailers receive a percentage of cash back on all purchases through their online portals. Once the viewer clicks on the site to register as a Panache shopper, then a portion of all sales that link back to the salon and spa will be donated to the “Panache Gives” account which is set-up on the website.
Weeks and her staff will determine which local beneficiaries are
in need and rotate the list of who will receive funding each quarter.
Weeks will first donate to the Children’s Museum of St. Johns,
an interactive experience for children and families and designed
to inspire and create a lifelong love of learning. Visit the website

Weeks and her team at Panache believe that even when times are financially difficult, there is always time, energy and money to share with others in need. “We stay strong by giving back,” Weeks said.
According to Weeks, other Panache efforts to support humanitarian
and sustainability efforts include the salon’s renowned and eco-friendly
fashion show held to support Earth Day awareness, The event is
the salon’s enormous fundraising and humanitarian cause for the
year. Approximately $31,000 was raised at the fashion show event
and all proceeds were donated to local non-profit organizations.

Locks of Love
Panache is partnered with Locks of Love, a not-for-profit organization that uses gift of human hair to provide hairpieces to financially disadvantaged childeren under the age of 18 with medical hair loss. The children receive their hair prosthetics free of charge or on a sliding scale based on the family's finances. Insurance rarely covers the cost of a hair prosthetic for long-term hair loss.
There are several reasons for hair loss in children, according to Susan Stone, Executive Director of Locks of Love. In the United States, it is estimated, over 15,000 children develop cancer every year. Chemotherapy treatments cause medical hair loss lasting 4-6 months. However, the most common is a disorder known as Alopecia Areata, which causes the hair follicles to shut down. Burns to the scalp and radiation treatments on the brain stem can also cause hair loss.
Panache wants to meet the needs of every financially disadvantaged child struggling through medical hair loss. Embarrased by their lack of hair, many children withdraw from normal childhood activites, visiting public places and playing with friends. Help us help them to regain a sense of self, restore their confidence and help them live a normal positive life.
